You'll see that Oz has no national policy and most states & territorys have based their policies on a nett tariff model rather than gross. Nett means you are only paid for the surplus power generated rather than all the power generated meaning that reaching pay-back on your investment takes much longer. Germany has a policy in place that's much more generous than anything currently in place in Oz and the take-up has been phenomenal there. Two friends of mine in Germany have 10kW systems on there roofs!
