You can not and never have been able to place new orders for asx warrants or any other stock after 4pm. You may however alter the price on an order that is already in the system before 4pm. If you want to take part in the closing auction, you need to have placed your order before 4pm. The trick is to place your order at a ridiculous price and wait and see which way the market changes after 4pm. It may go your way, or not. In this time frame you can change your order price to meet the market maker at any time although, being a single price auction, the market maker is not allowed to make a transaction in this time and like him, you won't know if you've been successful until the last second.
