@wotsup - nice voices, nice song - a touch of the Irish in the main singer maybe?
re your wife not liking 'your song' - why not find out what she likes and see if you can play them?
You can get music on-line, but you would have to learn to read music first. Shouldn't be too hard - I picked it up in primary school in a few lessons - it was part of being accepted into the 'Children's Choir of the City of Vienna' - I don't think it exists anymore. I believe music education is much neglected in schools nowadays.
Being a migrant, and also having travelled (and worked in England for close to 1 year as a teenager) exposed me to different cultures, different music, different songs. Some are international - sis-in-law was an avid Elvis Presley fan - and over on the music thread people recently posted oldies by Caterina Valente who was a Pan-European success - she sang in many languages and I don't even know what nationality she was, possibly Italian-Swiss? Just checked, she was born into a showbiz family in Paris, parents were Italian.
Re Vienna and Music - I just checked, the City of Vienna now sponsors many specialist choirs - good on them!
But I live in Western Australia; my two younger daughters first had the benefit of some good music teachers in a country town here in W.A.; there they won Eisteddfodd prizes, which events are run by dedicated and wonderful volunteers - and later went to Churchlands, here in Perth, which was wonderful too. One of them became a well-known professional musician over in England, the other continued on for a while, playing various gigs, but now has given up, which is very sad - I offered to have her Cello restored, but nothing doing. Her decision.
I now just 'tinker' on the piano - I like my new toy, the 'keytar', but am having my piano tuned - very soon . . .
Eldest daughyer has just passed grade 4 violin with a B+ - I am so proud of her It's her way of honouring her dead sis.
Go well
keep playing, singing . . . maybe prepare something for Valentine's Day?
