@alonso - lucky for you - my friend's problem is a different one - he knows what it is - I have also helped my mother with this remedy,who suffered from, basically 'overeating' - altghough she wasn't grossly fat, but loved her good food - and over a long life had managed to get diverticulitis - the slippery elm helped 'line' her stomach and gut - it helped - a little. Lucky, I haven't followed in her footsteps or should I say her 'gut instincts' - - - she was a great mum though, had wonderful cooking skills etc.
If anyone needs to take this: just dissolve one or two heaped teaspoonsful in lukewarm water, stir into porridge consistency and take 10 minutes before each meal - make sure your meals are small and non-irritating . . . It lines the inside of oesophagus, stomach and intestines.
It has a fairly neutral taste - not gourmet material, of course.
