It's not how hotdogs are made, might be the fat and bone works from somewhere, more likely going into soaps and stuff.
Australian health regulations wouldn't allow such a process for human food consumption, not very HACCP at all, the healthy would have a fit.
Hot dogs are generally made from a reasonable product, probably something a bit better than what the average sausage is made out of but generally only pork meat used, lower fat content thats for sure but higher water content due to different type of flour type stuff we call meal, Aussie made continental hot dogs are the better quality ones over the red skinned ones, some Butchers make good continental hotdogs.
Strange they put whole pigs through like that though, maybe the pig was sick or diseased or something.
