    @nugett On the whole I tend to dress properly the minute I get out of bed; even my summer nighties are good enough to be viewed in broad daylight - not so my winter ones, need to work on them, spend some money on real wool.

    Coco Chanel had this advice for women: dress every day as if you were going to meet your big love that day, that moment.

    I find, it makes me feel good to be at least tidy, hair in order, a smidgeon of make-up and wearing a dress/outfit I like.
    Not always, when working in the garden etc.
    I think it works for men, too - though my best friend on here cannot, even in the kindest spirit be accused of sartorial sophistication . . . . .
