Have spent a fair bit of my free time getting to know the beast and finding some nice surprises
I did a spread sheet listing all the add on extras and then researched the conservative cost of those including fitting, when I added all that up including the new after market rims and tires it came in at $35k.
I see on the GVM upgrade compliance plate that most of these extras were fitted just 6 months ago so all relatively new, but wait there is more. I found that electric diff lockers have been fitted to the front and rear diffs, I mentioned that to some one and they said it costs about $3k for each of those so total extras is over $40K.
Bit of a mystery why some one spent all that money, expect they were looking at long range caravan towing, then for what ever reason it became available for me to buy.
Well last Saturday I tagged along with a 4x4 club on a trip, there was two quite steep and rock inclines to tackle and I was pleasantly surprised how easy the beast got up them. Was a breeze, not happy with the red dust on the black car but hitting the dirt this weekend so no point washing it
LOL popped in for drinks with next door neighbour last night, a former (bit controversial) AFL player was there and it was his late model Nissan Patrol out the front. He tells me he was always a Toyota fan but could not find a decent LC200 for what he was prepared to pay so the Patrol won him over
Well he insisted on taking me for a drive, well he had a heavy foot, had it up to 140kmh in a relatively short time. I got in the drivers seat, driving with a much lighter foot. Yeah it was nice with lots of tech and so it should be as it's much newer than my LC200
We get back and I take him for a look at my LC200, well he is like shit that's what I wanted and when I tell him what I paid for it he suggest it might be stolen. The idea of a strait sway was raised and quickly rejected
