News flash (the pie): Just though I'd check on Consuela to see how she was going buttering the flour for the pastry. There was a glint of guilt, a rush to deposit something into the bin and no trace of remnant flour on the bench. Suspicious, I checked for evidence in said bin and found, to my shock and horror, the plastic wrapping of store-bought pastry. There is no God.
