It will be interesting, the republicans are in a bit of a spot. If they let Trump off they are in effect thumbing there nose at the constitution and setting a precedent that in future they will be hamstrung trying to impeach a Democrats President should they feel the need.
So the senate trial will have to hear solid evidence that Trump did no wrong, the republicans I presume where prevented by Trump from giving evidence in the congress investigation. You would have thought that if there was evidence Trump did no wrong they could have presented it then and stopped it from getting this far.
The question remains, if Trump is innocent why did he withhold documents and prevent staff testifying that where subpoena?
