Barg - good advice - this morning I remembered my bout with flu from last year which I got in England, waiting in a drafty open market place for my dementia-suffering opposite number in England - with that 'plummy' accent you always assume they are the 'full quid' and she wasn't - had forgotten about me and went on her merry way, socialising - anyways, after 4 weeks of neglect by my kids, as I relied on them to get me to a doctor, or call a doctor - I finally was so hoarse that I couldn't speak and had chest pain - and was due to fly back in 2 days time; I did get to a doctor after stating: 'I am dying, get me to a doctor' whereupon my daughter stood right in front of me and said: 'the one dying around here is me . . ' whereupon the ice was broken, we both broke into simultaneous laughter and tears . . . . and I got my wish, she is still around, but struggling, again.
Long story: I was full of phlegm, had trouble breathing or walking a distance of more than 10 m without having to stop (I am normally pretty fit) - returned home, got better but had another bout of same same - another bout of penicillin treatment - no more cold since then - 1 year and 2 months without a single cold - but recently thought; 'what if I had ended up with pneumonia?'
Also: friend of mine had an operation on Monday - spine stuff - I rang her husband yesterday and he had made good use of being at a hospital attending his wife and chatting up every doctor, nurse who would listen and inquiring about Corona and what to do.
Their/His advice: make sure you keep your hands squeaky clean, wipe down your steering wheel and car door handles and hands every time you enter from any place other than your home - and just keep cleaner than usual.
So, thankyou for that reminder - it is good advice. I'll call for an appointment as soon as I have read a few more messages on here. Stay safe Taurisk
