I love all storms, the thunder and lightning, they are amazing and exhilarating.

When I was 12, I lived in a tiny country town that was nestled right up in a valley at the head of the Brisbane River catchment.

The storms would roll in and get sort of stuck in the head of the valley.

Then the storms would let loose something chronic.

We used to call it Chain Lightning.

You could actually feel the electricity in the air.

We would play outside for as long as we could before Mum called us in.

Then we would all line up to the verandah windows to watch our free show.

The windows would rattle, the house would shake, my sisters would let out little screams...

We all loved watching the power and splendour of the magnificent display.
