I remember my husband noticing my hair after a perm - saying 'hi, Curly!' and giving me a kiss and a smile and ruffling my hair. Furthermore, before a big evening, I'd put all my then voluminous hair into roll-up twisties done with coloured ribbons - and he would say, he loved that better than when they were 'let loose' - he had a gentle sense of humour about women - same with the girls. They adored him, of course, all my lady friends loved him, too! Humour solves everything.
I never wasted my time with guys who were self-important and didn't know how to make me laugh.
