well the great thing about paper is it’s so damned hard to work with that I just decided imperfection was just part of the deal. That way you don’t worry about detail. I’d love to get the perfect finish but I don’t have it in me

I use tissue paper a lot It’s versatile, can be laminated or single layered and it can be made into larger pieces with glue or double sided tape. It fades though so again I just see the fading as part of the art. Wallpaper is really hard. It’s thick. It doesn’t take tape or glue that well and it’s actually far more fragile than you’d expect. I also use table napkins. Most are three ply so I have to take them apart as well. I’ve done hand cut lace and it takes forever. my work is frivolous and a sort of commentary on fashion. I love shapes, textures and colours but it’s utterly pointless. Paper emphasises that.

    I also like masks.

most people are creative in some way. we just get it knocked out of us. Secret is to find our thing. I’d love to be able to paint - I can draw passably but not paint. I just end up with a great big Ugly mess. I’m not sure that I’m that conceptual though.

Solving problems is creative. It means you aren’t stuck in your thinking. Thank goodness one doesn’t have to do hand writing much. I reckon they train doctors to write appallingly v there’s probably a class called crap illegible handwriting and you get too marks if the tutor hadn’t a clue what you wrote.
