I had an aunt whose ideas, even as a child, were handed down among other family members. She told her mum that when she got her very first pay cheque, she would be buying herself a large bottle of tomato sauce and drink it all by herself!!! (Guess, she got into trouble for over dosing on her tomato sauce.)

I too like tomato sauce. It's the secret spices as well as the tomatoes, I guess. Goes well with eggs, so agree with you there. My mum's advice was that there was no dish which can't be improved without the addition of a can(or cans) of tomatoes.
