I watched a real life story yesterday where a kitten grew up with 3 medium-sized - and the kitten tried to do everything the dogs did. It even went for swims with them - stood on the bow of a boat - drank from the same water bowl - if I find it again, I'll post.
We did have a cat - once - and we lived about 5 minutes' walk from the beach and sometimes hubby and I used to go for a little walk and one of our cats sometimes followed us - he was a ginger tommy - once at the beach, he'd turn round and go home again - the waves were too much.
