A few confuse me or really seem so funny-One is Manchester, how I laughed when I first came across this, I understand the connection though. Rooted mmmmmI thought that meant something else rather rude?
Thongs, now in England that is a G string. I get very confused in a bottleo when they say do you want stubbies and say well we want either cans or bottles.

Now I can tell you a funny story. Several years ago, we went into our local butchers. There was a very young man serving and I asked him for a nice joint for Sunday, he stood there with his mouth open. Then went out the back to see his boss who said, its ok I get it you want a roast for Sunday

Another one, I asked for some Nippon, which in England is a small bottle of ant killer. This caused a few laughs.

Then cling film is what you call glad wrap, I could go on haha.
