If you know your neighbour and are on a freindly basis you can make a judgement call.
House drirectly behind mine was recentlly sold and new people moved in, don't know if they are the owners or renting. I have a big tree that over hangs, I am keen for them to either cut the overhang (lol no small task) or discuss with me about doing so. I'm happy to come to the party but what is their terms? Legally I don't have to do anything but last think I want id to get them off side
