Hi @NoBoDe - 'Tannhäuser' is actually one of the 'quieter' operas of Wagner - I have only ever seen 3 of his operas performed on stage and have no desire to see them all 'live', especially not the Ring Cycle, as every music afficionado wants to or pretends to want to - but am happy to listen to excerpts and find some of music absolutely exquisite. and what about his 'Ride of the Valkyries?" a musical worm if ever there was one - and there are many others - did you know that the famous bridal theme 'here comes the Bride', often played in Churches when the bride arrives, is a Wagner tune? it can also be ascribed to Mendelssohn, as he used that melody first - maybe it was a common and well-known folk tune, which both composer utilised . . . .
Also - if you have observed as many musicians as I have; - you'll find they are usually on a high after a performance and need to drink and relax and chat, before finally going home to get their rest.
