Yeah I did come across what you called a NUC this is sort of similar, can't expand internally much but has 6 USB ports so can add external stuff

One your son is building will have much more grunt but this one with intel core 5 processor, 16GB ram and 512GB SSD drive is well beyond what I need

Got my own Office suite loaded and reloading outlook data, some thing not quite right seem some emails and contacts missing so trying to sort that out

For now I still have my old computer hooked up just in case, should have all stuff backed up on the external hard drive but..........

I look forward to getting to the point I can pack up the old computer and all the wiring plugs ect, this new one requires stuff all wiring so will be no trouble at all to move to a different room. Strangely if came with a wired key board and mouse, wireless ones don't cost much
