Me again Justis,
This thread is far too addictive, I must retreat soon to housework......yawn.
We watched an English episode of escape to the country this week.
It was very interesting, they showed a rather rough and ready farm in a very rural area with some forest.
These people had a nice old basic cottage, but also set up a glamping business.
They had put the large tents on to timber decks, very good idea.
They also had a little old shack converted to accomodation.
There was no power on the site. So all lighting was from some sort of solar candles.
The toilet was a eco or camping one, not sure which.
Barbecues were outside for cooking, could be a problem here in the summer.
But the best bit was they had built a really rustic large shed from corrugated iron, which contained a pot belly stove for heating and a large undercover barbecue which all campers could use when the weather was bad.
There were nice old squashy sofas, a tennis table, darts board etc in there.
Their policy was nothing to be wasted, take all their rubbish with them. It was a brilliant and popular concept.
Thinking of you, quite often you could buy 50 or 100 acres of poor land, preferably with fresh water, no power needed.
I have seen places like this very very cheap.
