Thirdly, tafe and senior colleges underwent a label change. They became "universities". "Lecturers" were once "teachers". No lecture was given in the B.A. degree I partially completed in one of these Mickey mouse institutions. Students prepared and presented to fellow students within the class, and lecturer then lead a discussion among the students. A single three hour time slot once per week. That was it.
My Economics degree at Monash couldn't have been more different. Non-paying students, excellent academics as our teaching staff and professors, well utilised libraries by diligent, high achievers, and very challenging syllabi.
I achieved a Masters degree at the non Mickey Mouse university and two undergrad degrees....
Mickey Mouse cured me of seeking any further university courses. I elected not to complete their "B.Ed". I would never want to hold that degree. Never.
