When I was a young teenager going to school in London, it was absolutely freezing. We had about a 1/2 hour walk to school, also 20 min walk to the canteen for lunch. We all wore tiny mini skirts and bare legs and our knees and thighs were chapped red raw. When we had the garden centre, we potted up plants in Jan and Feb and the compost was full of ice. It was pitch black by 4pm. I don't expect Tassy is? You had to use a cigarette lighter to get the key to open the car lock. Winters were so very long, Oct-April really. But summer evenings were wonderful, it stayed light until 10 pm. Every place has advantages and disadvantages of course.

Yes well tassie does have some rather varied vegetation andlandscapes, a walk around Dove lake near Cradle Mountain you see a few different one. Quite amazing to have Rain forests down there
