No-one, these days, does anything for me on Valentine's Day - and I am sure the same is happening to a lot of other people out in the big wide world, on here, on HC and in the more personal sphere of friends . . . . but let's not get bitter about this minor inconvenience and remember that -
we have loved and have been loved by someone, some day, maybe for some years and we may not even know who that person was/is
Take a pause and remember the people YOU might have rejected - yes, I have done this and there was always a good reason, but the fact is, THEY loved you and you should be just a little grateful for that - they might have been teachers, priests, men, women or just casual people in a shop . . . . be grateful! and With luck we have had loving parents . . . with luck we have pets who love us, not just for the food we give them, but because they are not so different to people and have feelings, but just cannot express them in words.
With luck, we have friends who love us - maybe a little less, maybe with a bit of that competitive instinct the human race is so fond of, but friends just the same . . .
