LOL the izone system looks complicated on the surface and in reality it is. However the installer will do the initial configuration while asking me for my preferences.

I have already studied the manual so I am in a good position to state my preferences and change them if I like. To start with the system will be set-up like this.

The full system will be set to auto and climate control so each zone is controlled independently for temp, fan speed ect

Each zone will have a temp sensor and be set up as auto climate control, so that will switch from heating to cooling automatically and to set temp

Each room zone will have a temp sensor and the set temp for each can be set individually

Each room temp sensor has a on/off switch so you can turn it off/on there in that room without going to the main controller or App

So with that set up I only need to turn on and off the complete system or zones via the app or switch off zones via wall sensor touch. And if need be adjust the set temp in individual rooms/zones.

LOL I am not a a fan of latest technology and this system allows for making a complete wireless smart house but I am not going their any time soon..

The ability to control individual room/zones got me and seems simple once set up

Hi @Justis - I have - on the weekend - spent a night in daughter and son-in-law's new home into which he immediately had air-conditioning installed. It has many rooms, most of the living area is upstairs, but there are also some rooms downstairs.
I had a wonderful night's sleep in a cool room, My home and especially the bedroom is somewhat warmer, but I have gotten used to it.
Their unit does not sit on the roof but in a side court, accessible, but hidden from view - the individual rooms can be individually temperature adjusted.

I have also realised that my two reverse-cycle air conditioners, which work very well (Mitsubishi!) have each cost me about $2500 to purchase plus the installation fee - and I have never cleaned them - they still work fabulously well, but will look into having them cleaned, soon.

Generally, adapting to the weather outside, opening windows at the right time and closing again, has served me well and I am mostly comfortable.
I hope you can still continue to use 'outside weather conditions' to bring the price of running your system down, because the cost will be substantial, if it's on all the time.

I am tossing up whether I should replace or upgrade my solar cell system - I have eight on the roof, but they are ten years old now - and the company has begun to pay less and less in refunds - our electricity company is based in Singapore or Malaysia - not good, it should be government-run.
The best thing would be to have one's own units on the roof and a storage battery in garage or cellar and be independent from external supply - it will happen IMO.
