- listening to RN - interesting news, always, some of it boring - and often makes me wonder how many subjects are now thought worthwhile a university degree and people pontificating endlessly on it - today it was all about 'scratchy' sounds (like nail on glass etc) and the differing reactions people have to them - give me a break!! -
Yesterday it was someone in California who had been innocently imprisoned and was a person of colour, spending his life in an orange suit (prison fashion!) - again pontificating on his experiences . . . . but of course, 'California, the Land of Fruit and Nuts' -
But there is often health news as well as financial and political reports.
Apropos politics - today I was listening to news about the Ukraine and the fact that Russia objects to Ukraine being allowed into NATO and wondered if anyone remembers how Yeltsin and before him Gorbachev had dearly wanted Russia to become a member of NATO and were denied this - by the Bushes, I seem to remember - we wouldn't have any of these problems now . . . and ALL Europeans of West and East would be one people . . . . did the U.S. wish to continue the Cold War, I wonder? and why?
