I used to run ours on 18 and the wife sneaked it up to 27, after the daughter did tests on hers, re meter readings at different temperatures.
I said we have one zone on in the upstairs sitting room.
Well,...it turns out when that zone is on, there is another vent in the entry void that comes on with it.
That also flows over the indoor balcony.
The areas this is getting to or cooling is not a baby (lol) in size, almost the average house.
Floor tiles to all these areas accept the upper sitting room, so I expect that helps in keeping it coooooooool lol.
But having said all this, the A/C had a price tag of just over 20g's, so you would expect some magic from it
Yes, we turn the M/bed on probably 2hrs before going to bed and then off.
If there is a cool sea breeze we open the M/Bed and Ensute windows (south to north flow) and that effectively flows across the bed.
(M/Bed is up stairs, hence no boggy man coming through the windows lol).
The house orientation, windows, doors etc are all very effective for the sea breeze.
