    @Justis - the younger generation - and i include you (and myself, even though i am 20 years ahead, but think 'young') - and my granddaughters are well aware that we cannot carry on 'as usual' - if we want to have a livable earth for future generations.
    Yes, the earth does go through cycles and there could be natural warming occurring, just as in the Middle Ages the Earth experienced a 'little Ice Age' - but you cannot convince me that masses of one clever species (us) who have managed to spread themselves and their detritus (which includes all the burnt stuff, gases etc.) are not affecting the ecology badly. We have become a 'pest' upon this earth, that is obvious to me.

    I differ a little from my younger generation, insofar that i believe we will have to consider nuclear power. Research into cleaner ways of obtaining nuclear are on-going all over the world; smaller plants are being experimented with, etc.
