LOL I was good with maths at school but I left high school early in yeah 9, so had no learning past that but funny enough it was years latter the I realised division was just simply the opposite of multiplication. Just as addition is the opposite of subtraction, I knew that one. Light bulb moment

Anyway the reason these trick maths questions create debate comes down to he assumptions of where the brackets are but if there is no brackets why assume there is

5 + 2 x 10 = 70
(5 + 2 ) x 10 = 70
5 + (2 x 10) = 25

here show equation/formula where some parts are in parenthesis and others are not
