@Joannie - I am sorry, diabetes isn't much fun, have known some people who suffer from it, but no relatives - thank G.d - probably means I have no weakness in that area

I am lucky, I don't have much of a sweet tooth, have stopped my daily tipple (which i did after Sonia, and I drank more than 1 glass per evening) and my last blood test was o.k. - kidneys o.k. too - there was a slightly increased value in something called 'creatinine' and my doctor asked me if I drank - I still drink socially, though, but never alone, well apart from a tot of European Rum ("Strohrum") now and then in tea (plus lemon juice, plus honey) - it's a wonderful winter drink - and that rum is 80%, so not for drinking 'neat', unless suicidal
Seems my echo cardiogram was o.k. too, although the technician wasn't allowed to tell me - have to have a stress test on a bicycle still - in 2 weeks' time - then there will be another expensive consultation with the heart specialist - Bupa don't pay much for those tests and I pay almost $3000 per year in premiums - and i haven't been sick much through most of my life - doesn't seem fair.
I do have to work on my fitness though, can't seem to do as much now per day, as I did in former times - need to rest in between physical stuff - I am seriously thinking of joining a gym, where one simply 'has to' go, because 'the fee' makes you feel bad if you don't and there is a bit of peer pressure.
I can't catch up with all the posts, either - did a bit of housework yesterday and a big shop - and i cooked, which I do not do daily.
Just getting ready to go out, now - but had to have a look at what my friends have to say on HC!!!
