Marg I will pipe in on the interest rates, disclosure I didn't bother to vote at the last election.
Government has virtually no influence on interest rates, federal bank determines interest rates completely independent of the government and they would have raised interest rates even in the liberals had won the last election.
@picastoc can probably do a better take on this than me. I'm thinking that Australia did too good getting the covid pandemic under control and put a lot of money into the economy in doing so and from there along with people spending money locally and not overseas is what has given inflation a big shot in the arm
