The tavern would be under water now because the flood has climbed the hill at Wollombi and is at the cemetery which is up the hill. We go stay there sometimes as it's so rich in Australiana history and there are big markets for antiques and wares. When we were last there we visited the museum which had photos of a flood that came up the river system and hit the area. These kids were mesmerised as they were camping down on the grounds beside the river. Their dad was showing them how high the river had come up and now it's happened again.
They put a water alert in town and shut down the Council.
