Wherever I switched to, there were loud strident voices, particularly the female ones, hurting my ears, taste in clothes unbecoming and just plain 'loud' or that ridiculous show where 'celebrities' feel they now have to sing, perform in animal clothing - are we all turning back into pre-schoolers?

My search for a worthwhile 'waste of time' on TV ended with watching an excellent documentary about Josephine Baker, the 'exotic' American dancer who struck the big time in the 1920s in Paris - and there were many actual photos and live scenes of her performances - she was truly great and funny and humane. It was wonderful;

This was showing on Channel NITV - the channel catering for the original Australians and Islanders etc. They often have great programs.
