On speeding fines - I got one a couple of years back coming home from Bunnings. I have a choice of 2 stores - one in
Hawthorn means a terrible railways crossing where the delay can be long and don't much like the carpark. The other
in Port Melbourne involves a nicer drive along Beaconsfield parade and although longer it is a more pleasant and has a
better and easier car park.
Was caught on camera doing just over in an attempt to be in the correct lane coming home and did not realise it was a 40
limit even. I got off by writing and not denying, admitting responsibility and then referring to my perfectly clean driving
record etc. I also made a phone call and police officer knew exactly what had happened with regard to other drivers as well.
I later found out that it was a hot spot for fines. It was news to me.
