Nothing much has changed really. They used to send young children up the chimney's to clean them, into the factories and down the mines. Now they don't start working until they have finished their education some at 18, others go to uni, but the retirement age gets pushed further along the line. Used to be 60 for women, then upped to 65, and now even further along the line. You either work when young, or when old. Either way they get their pound of flesh. Guarantee that if they brought in a 4 day working week, that pension age would just get pushed further down the line.
