Luck: I remember going to school (always 'walked' in those days) and missed the falling bricks from a collapsing chimney (war damage) by 5 paces . . . . - or slipping off Mum's lap whilst she was sitting on the fenders of the wagon behind the locomotive - she fell asleep and was letting go of me - I was a small child - neighbour saw it and rescued me - would have been mincemeat.
