well since I write that piece I’ve had a few hugs, a bit of a back rub and a couple of phone calls from people with exquisite timing and care.
But more importantly I guess is that one of the friends who had done a lot of the excavator work on the place came here to buy a few things. In the chit chat as you do I asked after his son (step son) only to find that he died last year. So the grief he, and in particular his wife, are feeling is just about overwhelming.
nothing beats ones own sorrow than acknowledging another who’s grief is far greater. So basically I guess I got over myself. I’m off to have a sauna and a wine and I’ll be back into things tomorrow after a day of self indulgence
