We don't get a lot of maggies here but in town they do and there is now a yearly alert on locations that they swoop. We used to get a lot of native parrots and when the drought and fires hit we didn't see many birds. This year we've seen small numbers return so I try to protect nests as much as possible. A lot of water birds have never come back though which is sad.
