    @Justis - that's a long way to go for a pie - I still remember the baker in the pub next-door to the TAB where i worked when I lived in the country - she was an excellent baker and when you went to see her in the kitchen, there was always a slab of pastry rolled out on a cloth on a large wooden table and she was busily filling and shaping the pies. Then a Swiss couple took over the pub, and began to introduce small canapees - needless to say, it wasn't a hit with the locals; in fact they went broke - I haven't checked out if there even is still a pub in that place, must do that - it was on the main drag.

    Then we had a wonderful Vietnamese baker here in K. - I enjoyed his pies on the rare occasions I felt like eating a pie; now a Chinese owner and they buy the factory ones and heat them, which are rubbish . . .
    I often think of that when I watch modern cooking program - one can get a little too refined, I think.
