Arh yea Papa Luigies, think they ran a gambling room in the basement. There was a pinball shop end of Market st opposite the train station and who doesn't remember Mama's shop next to the post office. The Freo boys hanging out at the Cantonmenet st car park opposite Parry's at the time.

When we lived in Forrest we would often walk to freo through JC and behind Fremantle lunatic asylum which was suppose to be haunted. Loved Fremantle lunatic asylum when it was the Maritime museum.

The Forrest street house was the second and last house we rented, after just a few years in Australia mum and dad had paid off what they borrowed to get us to Australia and had a deposit for a house in Hamilton hill. Paid that off in just a few year later, yeah us kids went without.

LOL that house was delayed getting finished,Forrest st landlord was pushing for us to move out. One day he came to the front door, dad walked passed him and went to close the front gate then came back to give the landlord a beating, closing the gate was so landlord couldn't get away so quick and dad was able to kick his back side as he was trying to get past the gate. LOL he never came back
