@diligent - I live in W.A. and lived in what we call here 'Down South' for 10 years and barely remember mozzies, but flies. Yet my farmer friend's wife, who have a small property near a river - also down south - but the house is well away from that water source - came down with Ross River Virus - one year - and she suffered for a long time, even a few years afterwards.
