Kerry Packer was rattling the cage as you put it long before he was a major player and had far more to loose than most people and indeed nearly lost the lot. It was indeed his views and going against the so called correct path that you are stating that made both him and the company he grew what it became.

But it is a surprise a new person taking over a role in a established position being ridiculed for every decision and the old line they will never be as good. Happens in the workplace all the time and surprise surprise more than not these people are far more successful on most occassions because of the new ideas and drive they bring to that position. But the good old aussie idea of a fair go has to play out first.
