One problem is that young people have not experienced the world of the fifties, sixties, seventies, when there was more space, fewer people, less congestion, less intrusion into our lives by the 'authorities' and greater freedom.   Those who have experienced different times and places can compare changes.  They have a then and a now.  This generation has no a then and a now to compare.  They only have their experience now, staring at phone screens while walking, shopping, commuting, never fully realizing the consequences of increasing regulations and control by the State,  a growing surveillance society, ever more regulation and loss of autonomy, etc.
