BSI statement on Brexit - not sure if this has been posted before, but as the CE mark was dragging on this was starting to become a bit of a concern for me. The result of last night's vote probably makes this less relevant but still thought it was worth posting.

"BSI would like to reiterate that the outcome of this vote and the continuing political uncertainty has no bearing on BSI’s membership of the independent European standards bodies, CEN and CENELEC.

In line with the decisions of the CEN and CENELEC General Assemblies on 23 November last year, BSI will continue to be a full member of CEN and CENELEC regardless of the conditions under which the UK leaves the EU, including in the event that the UK leaves the EU without an agreement.

BSI experts will still be entitled, as now, to participate in CEN and CENELEC technical committees while BSI will continue to enjoy full voting rights in the decision-making bodies of both CEN and CENELEC. During the transition period for the statutes which will begin from the date of the UK’s departure from the EU, the statutes of the organizations will be reviewed to enable BSI to continue as full member on a permanent basis."

Hopefully the CE Mark will be wrapped up before this would become relevant but it's still good to know that there is no looming deadline
