The tenants renting Labor frontbencher David Feeney's home are supporting the local Greens candidate.
Mr Feeney blamed an "oversight" for his failure to declare the $2.3 million Melbourne home, in his Batman electorate, on the parliamentary register of interests.
The tenants have a campaign sign in the front yard supporting the Greens candidate for Batman Alex Bhathal.
Yesterday Opposition Leader Bill Shorten rebuked Mr Feeney for failing to declare the Melbourne house he bought in 2013.
The house is negatively geared, which prompted criticism from the Government about Labor's plan to stop the tax-lowering arrangement on existing properties.
Mr Feeney has also confirmed he lives in an apartment owned by his wife and collects an allowance while in Canberra.
The unit is not specifically listed in Mr Feeney's register of interests but his wife's trust, Liberty Sanger Family Trust, is.
The apartment is owned by the trust.
