Felix closed the week at $7.24 after hitting a low of $5.05 about one week ago. Spot thermal coal, out of Newcastle, rose to US$103 a tonne.
Thoughts that the Felix main asset, Moolarben, with prospects of up to 13 million tonnes per annum of low cost thermal coal by 2011, is worth considerably more than the projected value of $1.25 billion, about 1 year ago, at these prices.
That also goes for Felix's 100% owned Yarrabee mine, 51% owned Minerva and Athena, and 60% owned Ashton coal mines.
