Recent announcements implementing the IRA Act (USA) clarifying the the supply chain that qualifies for EV subsidies indicates that Cobalt supplied by entities such as COB will benefit from Bidens policy which excludes minerals from supply chains processed and or mined in unapproved sources which would include China Russia maybe Indonesia &, DRC (depending on Chinese ownership) and Iran .
The only issue no clarified by recent announcements is the level and method of enforcement > I note that similar issues under consideration by the LME re environmental compliance are being approached by collaborative certification which is better than self assessment . The later being suggested by some as effective if married with harsh penalties for non compliance , Either approach IMO would suit COB who have already ticked the boxes at a environmental social jurisdictional and investment level .
Additionally the clarification of COB approved status in the. US and perhaps the EU Cobalt supply chain may attract US investment as the EV materials rush gets moving in 2024. Gidday up COB
