And I should add that we are also our own water catchment here. We don't get runoff from other areas as we are at the foot of the great dividing range. In a flood, it's mainly local water, then it's all over the next day. Up around Moree they get water from hundreds of ks away. Out further west at say Walgett they get water from everywhere, even QLD.
