So this is the sort of twaddle farmers are fed. When in fact the best advice would have been last October, buy 2 years worth of fertilizer. Increase borrowings because your land values are going up anyway and lock away input costs for 2 years!!!!! Anyway I listened to myself. LOL Sheds are chock full of cheap fertilizer. Some people love gold, I am a fertilizer bug because it is useful for me.

Farmers warned to check soil as fertiliser costs rise
    Monday, March 12, 2007. 3:02pm (AEDT)

Farmers are being urged to get their soil tested before spending money on fertilisers.

The Department of Primary Industries' (DPI) latest dry season report has found there has been a recent jump in fertiliser costs.

The DPI's Chris Sounness says farmers should not be wasting money on fertiliser they do not need.

"Phosphorous fertiliser is one that people are looking at closely and it's a matter of trying to make sure that they have good information by conducting soil tests to make sure they apply the amount they need, so that they still maximise their yield potential without over-spending," he said.

The DPI's report also says that while the region endured a dry February, there is a 50-50 chance of most of the state getting better than median rainfall.
