Someone posted an interview with with the Doc when he was with another company (can't remember the name off the top of my head), however this company had been F**'d over by the Chinese, so the Doc didn't seem to regard them in high esteem.

We know they have some of the biggest lithium players in the World in the data room, do doubt some will be Chinese. This merchant bank thing might just be the Doc saying to them put up or shut up. I don't think he would be willing to play their games. Remember, the Western world discounts companies in Africa, the Chinese are strong and don't see it that way, they are rapidly expanding their ownership in Africa.

Goulamina would be a drop in the ocean for them to purchase, the only other hard rock deposits of any note are in Australia, don't think they'd go too well with the FIRB trying to buy one of those, not to mention the price.
