At the beginning of 2018 the total value of cryptocurrencies was US$ 512 billion. Twelve months ago, the total value was just US$12 billion—a 4200% increase. Whilst bitcoin still accounts for around 50% of this market capitalisation, there are now over 1200 cryptocurrencies being traded. Most of these will fade away into oblivion, similar to so many of the internet stocks of the early 2000s.

It's all about being patient and being able to afford to hold and wait.
